The bar has now been set MUCH higher!

I just received my order of 4 QSC LA108 speakers recently (along with totes) and have taken them out on a few gigs thus far. The clarity is unimaginable. Have to hear it to believe it. My cell phone videos dont do it justice. Being able to optimize the speakers but the press of a button, has saved me so much time because I have to do little to NO EQ on the master bus. Its that dang good! The ease of setup is incomparable. I can have a professional line array system up, BY MYSELF, in a matter of minutes!! Unheard of. No pins, No bars, just a couple simple clicks with the onboard equipment and go. Everytime I have used these, everyone in the vicinity is curious, complimentary, and mind boggled all at the same time. I havent even hit the clip light yet and these things have been proven to carry at least 2 blocks (I did this test myself at a gig). QSC you've done it again!

So far: the perfect upgrade for the KLA's

My company was built on QSC K-series boxes, I've had some of everything in the lineup and have been upgrading to the K.2 series as they came out. The 8.2's are really my favorite boxes for a variety of reasons, so when the LA108 was announced I recognized that it is basically the 8.2 in array form with nifty new tools. I've been using the KLA's for larger area shows for years and they've more than paid for themselves, but the darn things are about 60lbs so my mid-50's body tells me it would be nice to not have to keep lifting them. I just received and tested four of the LA108's at a regular summer series show and can honestly say that they more than fit the bill, the coverage is better and the pack in the van is easier than the four KLA's I've been using for this setup for the last few years. I was always riding the edge of the limiter on the KLA's, using master-bus compression to keep just under the red light stage. I was watching the 108's through last week's show and never saw the limiter light up, and my walk-abouts during the show told me that the coverage is more even than the KLA's. Personally I went with the 108's over the 112's for two reasons: 3db more headroom over the KLA, and 1/2 the weight at 30 lbs. The 112's would give 2db more headroom at 50 lbs per box, that didn't feel like the right investment for my needs.
