WorldWideLine

Engineers around the world are spreading the word about WideLine.

"I had headroom for days. Seether is loud. This crowd demands high SPL, and they got it, with real fidelity too. The sound was clean, with no pain — no one got hurt."
Howard Worthen, Front of House Engineer – Seether

"Such a surprise and pleasure to mix on the QSC WideLine-8s this last weekend. The sound was precise, and extremely Hi-Fi. Excellent coverage and more power than I needed."
Ross Pallone, Front of House Engineer — Christopher Cross, David Benoit, MTV, Michael McDonald, John Tesh

"WideLine offers a lot of sound pressure, given its small dimensions. In times of raising transport costs, this is becoming more and more important."
Eddy Van Nuffel, AED Rent, Belgium

"Many Sound engineers and DJs pass by the mixing position of Salamandra every week. We have everything from local bands to International stars, from Heavy rock to Flamenco to Techno. Again and again our WideLine-10 convinces every one of them with the outstanding clarity, definition and finesse of the system at high SPL. Everybody raves after using it... Making me happy was a tough challenge, but making everybody happy is very, very rare in this business!!!"
ULA, Chief Sound Engineer — Salamandra, Barcelona, Spain

"No fixing — just mixing"
Mike Montero, Audio Engineer — Neville Brothers

"In my years of touring, this WideLine rig with the SC28 system controller is the most consistent day to day, straight out of the box."
John Tompkins, System Engineer — Crosby, Stills and Nash

"Our performances include a dense mix of different singers, brass and percussion sections. WideLine gives us pristine and powerful sound combined with impressively wide horizontal coverage but it's still compact and light. We need a system that’s really quick and easy to deploy and takes the abuse that we put it through without sacrificing sound. We have it in the WideLine-10."
Carnero, Front of House Engineer — Orquesta Los Satelites, Spain

Sound Power to "All" the People

"Sound Power" is the total acoustical energy a loudspeaker radiates in all directions and at all frequencies. Most high Q "directional" line-arrays aren't very directional at lower frequencies. So additional reflected low-frequency energy gets bounced back to the listeners where it combines with full-range, direct energy from the loudspeaker array. This often creates a muddy sounding room with a very tilted spectral content. What does the mix engineer do? Lift the high-frequency EQ to compensate of course. But now those listeners closer to the array, who hear more direct than reflected sound, are having their hair parted by excessive HF.

WideLine produces a reflected field that is much more consistent with and complementary to the direct field. The result is a more intelligible, musical, sonically balanced and natural sounding mix for the entire audience – not just those in the center of house sweet spots.

The WideLine system also features the QSC SC28 system controller with Intrinsic Correction™ processing - an innovative approach to creating and programming system tunings that produces amazing accuracy combined with preset recall simplicity. Or choose the flexibility and rich GUI environment of networked QSControl.net™ processors. Lest we forget, no WideLine system would be complete without the PL380 "ultimate Class D" amplifier for efficiency combined with fidelity and audio finesse rivaling the best linear designs.
