Las Vegas, NV... When QSC attended the October 2004 ETS-LDI tradeshow in Las Vegas, no one expected to be greeted by rain, hail, floods, and bone-chilling temperatures. But even bad weather couldnt keep the QSC crew from having fun and making sure the crowds were entertained at ET Live, a multi-stage musical showcase designed to illustrate how various types of concert equipment work together in a live setting. With the weather not cooperating, QSC was extremely grateful for small favors; their stage held together during a freak hailstorm one day before the start of ET Live, and thanks to the simplicity and easy setup of their sound system, the crew was able to get the rig up and the tarps over the equipment just in time for the rain and hail.
The QSC stage displayed nine WideLine boxes flying inside the left and right stage supports, four ISIS PCM215 subwoofers onstage, and four of QSCs new 18 ModularDesignTM (MD-S218) series subwoofers grounded in front of the stage. Many of those on hand crowded around the impressive WideLine array before, during, and after the 30-minute concerts. The crowds marveled at both the awesome sound quality coming out of the ISIS system and the 140° dispersion of the WideLine array. One comment that was overheard repeatedly was how crisp and clear the sound was, especially coming from such a compact array. Many lingered around the QSC area after the showcases to ask questions and pick up literature about all of QSCs product lines.
The Papamichael World Group amazed audiences with their special brew of jazz-fusion on the QSC stage. With Portable Live Sound Market Manager Brian English at the helm, QSC proudly showcased their outstanding ISIS WideLine system. Everyone agreed that the Papamichael World Groups unique sound provided the perfect compliment to the ISIS WideLines. And speaking of perfect compliments to the rig, Yamaha® provided QSC with a PM1D console for front of house and a PM5D for the monitor mixer, while Robe provided the stage lighting.
The show was a success overall. QSC generated an immense buzz around their latest entries into the loudspeaker forum, and the concerts went off without a hitch. It was a partnership in event production that even Vegas high rollers were sure to bet on.
