QSC POWERLIGHTS SELECTED BY BLACK BOX MUSIC

BERLIN, GERMANY… Berlin-based rental company Black Box Music (BBM) has purchased eight PowerLight 4.0 amplifiers to power their L-Acoustics 115 monitor systems. Owned by Thilo Goos and Arnold Kaspari, BBM’s clientele includes such names as Rammstein, The Cure, and Rosenstolz for touring, as well as Lenny Kravitz (unplugged), Bob Geldof, and Oasis for one-off events.
Black Box Music’s decision to purchase QSC’s PowerLight amplifiers was based on their positive prior experience with the company’s MX Series amplifiers and confirmed by extensive testing. The overriding feature that swung the decision to select the PowerLight line was the amplifier’s ability to handle high SPLs without losing transparency and punch.
The PL4.0 provides 2000 watts per channel at 2 ohms with outstanding thermal capacity and the lowest AC power current draw of any amplifier in its class. This is accomplished via the amplifier’s high efficiency, Class H linear output circuit.
Black Box is one of the country’s more experienced PA rental companies, having been active for ten years. As complete service providers, they have developed a long relationship with former East German bands like Puhdies, as well as newer acts such as Bell Book and Candle.
Specializing in providing engineering support and all aspects of AV and staging technology for tours and concert planning, Black Box Music is also shrouded in rock ’n’ roll romance—since the company’s old warehouse was situated in the middle of East Berlin, and bands would rehearse in the seven levels of cellars underneath.
