Costa Mesa, CA (Sept 20, 2012)--QSC Audio Products is proud to announce that it has received a 2013 TEC Award nomination for outstanding technical achievement in product design innovation and production for its Q-Sys™ Integrated Cores 250i/500i.
Nominated in the TEC Award category of Amplification Hardware/Studio & Sound Reinforcement, the Q-Sys 250i/500i Cores are designed specifically to deliver powerful digital networked audio solutions for the widest range of applications. Both Core models provide advanced centralized processing, routing and control for contractors and consultants needing a solution for small and mid-sized venues such as restaurants, nightclubs, stores, government venues, corporate installations, schools and houses of worship.
"These Q-Sys Integrated Cores represent our continuing commitment to providing professional audio and networking systems that offer outstanding performance as well as exceptional value." says Ray van Straten, QSC's Director of Marketing Communications. "QSC is honored to be recognized by our industry peers and congratulate all of this year's TEC nominees for their contributions and advancements in audio technology."
The Core 250i/Core 500i models are fully integrated solutions, each with eight card slots on-board. The Core500i is capable of up to 128 network channels while the Core 250i provides up to 64 channels. I/O is selectable via the various Q-Sys I/O cards. Options also include the MTP-64, and MTP-128 multitrack players.
Like all Q-Sys Cores, these systems run under a customized Linux operating system on Intel® microprocessors and motherboards. IT connectivity is easily implemented utilizing Layer 3 Gigabit networking protocols and standard Gigabit Ethernet hardware. The systems are capable of providing simple and failsafe redundancy for mission-critical applications. All system design, configuration, administration and control operate under a simple and straightforward GUI provided by the Q-Sys Designer software. Additionally, custom user control panels are easily created and can be displayed on any Internet-connected PC, iOS ™ device or QSC's own Touch Screen Controllers (TSC-3, TSC-8). Any incoming signals may be mixed and routed to any output and nearly unlimited DSP is provided, including Acoustic Echo Cancellation (AEC), recently announced as a standard function of the Q-Sys platform – and at no additional charge to the customer.
The TEC Award nominations, based on entries by manufacturers, were made by a select panel of over 160 professionals from a wide variety of audio specialties. Voting for the TEC Awards will take place among members of various industry professional organizations, including the Producers & Engineers® Wing of The Recording Academy®, Society of Professional Audio Recording Services (SPARS), Motion Picture Sound Editors, Music Producers Guild, NAMM, Game Audio Network Guild, as well as the professional subscribers to a number of leading audio industry publications.
