First, a well-designed active loudspeaker is inherently reliable. The amplifier and loudspeakers are carefully matched during system design for peak performance and optimal power/driver ratios. Next, onboard digital signal processing (DSP) is pre-programmed to further enhance and maximize the overall performance of the system without over-stressing any components. Exclusive to QSC, every K Family product features our advanced Intrinsic Correction™ processing that enhances the overall sound and maintains its consistency throughout the listening area. There's no need to set external DSP, thereby eliminating the possibility of dialing in the wrong tuning. K Family systems simplify wiring complexity, greatly reducing the number of potential failure points in your system. The cables connecting the signal processing to the amplifiers and the amplifiers to the speakers are just a few inches long and are safely tucked away inside the loudspeaker enclosure. These very short wire runs also reduce system noise and all but eliminate signal loss. The result – a highly efficient loudspeaker system that is as clean sounding as it is reliable.
QSC's attention to quality in design and manufacturing is legendary. Over 40 years of proven experience has gone into the development of the K Family. For enduring reliability, we've constructed the K Family from only the finest materials available. K and KLA Series enclosures are molded from the same kind of high-impact ABS used for items such as auto parts and football helmets. (Incidentally, ABS also has better sonic characteristics than other plastic materials.) Our KW Series enclosures (as well as all K Family subwoofers) are constructed of premium birch plywood, cut to precise tolerances using CNC routers and carefully assembled with advanced, industrial adhesives and hardware. And just for good measure, we protect all the drivers with heavy-gauge steel grilles on front of the enclosures. With construction like that, you'll rent your K Family inventory with confidence knowing that the loudspeakers will remain in service much longer than competing models.
QSC is long known for our expertise in power amplifiers, so it should come as no surprise that the K Family of products features power modules designed and built to the same standards our amplifier customers have come to expect and depend upon. In fact, the K Family amp module design is so powerful and efficient that up to five loudspeakers can be operated on a single 15A, 120VAC circuit! That means your K and KW Series customers can confidently set up a system, AND still power a small set of LED lights. KLA Series renters can confidently operate a full fivebox line array system without worrying about tripping circuit breakers. Long extension cord runs shouldn't be a problem either – every model utilizes a 100 - 240 volt universal power supply mitigating potential system malfunctions due to power sags.
Before any loudspeaker is deemed fit to wear the QSC badge, we beat on it – every aspect of it – looking for and correcting (even if completely reengineering) any potential points of failure that might occur in the field. Then once released to manufacturing, we apply rigorous, real-time quality control to the entire manufacturing process - from raw materials through the shipping label on the box - to make sure that what we designed is exactly what gets built and ultimately delivered to your doorstep. That holds true for all our manufacturing facilities - worldwide. No exceptions. Today there are tens of thousands of K Family loudspeakers deployed in the field and a mere fraction of them (<1%) has had a component failure due to manufacturing defect. In our ongoing commitment to product development, we continually test and refine our products throughout their life-cycle in an effort to achieve consistent, reliable performance for the long-run. The integrated mixer functions found on the K and KW Series input panel can handle up to three simultaneous inputs as well as mix and/or redistribute the incoming signal.
For many AV or simple P.A. applications, no external mixer or direct box is required. For dry hire companies, the simplicity and fool-proof nature of K Family loudspeakers means that you'll spend less time helping your customers understand how to use them. Your customers will get consistently great results, and your inventory is far less likely to be damaged by overly exuberant operation.
K Family loudspeakers offer deployment options that will make them among the favorite problem solving tools in your rental inventory. All two and three-way models may be suspended using M10 fittings and K Series enclosures can also be mounted to truss or other structure using optional yoke mount accessories. KLA loudspeakers can also be quickly deployed with the optional KLA AF12 Array Frame. For simple ground deployment, pole mounting provisions are found on all full-range models with the twoway models employing the innovative Tilt- Direct™ pole socket. Tilt-Direct allows users to aim the loudspeaker at the audience while minimizing reflections off of nearby surfaces.
The KLA Series also features the SOLO™ (Single-Operator Logistics) rigging system. Entirely self-contained, SOLO completely revolutionizes the way fixed arcuate line arrays are deployed. With this unique system, users can quickly assemble (and disassemble) a line array in a fraction of the time of comparable systems - all without the need for special tools or external hardware. A single user can quickly and effortlessly secure two KLA boxes together in less than ten seconds! Simply lift, click and play.
